I inherited this desk from my grandparents. My great-grandfather built it, which means it's about fifty years old. Prior to this finish, it was a dark mahogany color and was desperate for a face-lift. I like to say I brought it into the 21st century.
My first furniture project 1) out of college and 2) with my new miter saw at the time. I didn't have plans or anything too specific in mind: just started with an idea and went with the flow. A couple of years later, my aesthetic changed and decided to spray paint the body of it (black to off-white) but kept the contrasting wood top. I LOVE natural wood grain.
After the entry table, I decided to create a desk in a similar style. It has a faux drawer and three shelves.
CRATE COFFEE TABLE
Endless options with crates! I love this coffee table for the storage but also for the center opportunities. It’s on casters for flexibility and function.
